Gray Matters on FRINGE

Coincidentally, Lesley also writes about a TV program for her column Gray Matters this week on Binnall of America.(I wrote about The Mentalist, and Psych, for Trickster's Realm this week.) Lesley really likes Fringe, and I do too; it's my favorite new show so far. Unfortunately, it's on opposite The Mentalist, but we just record one, watch the other. While there at BOA, be sure to read all the great columns, like Richelle Hawks,(also a contributor here at Women of Esoterica), Tina Sena, etc.

Faux Psychic TV

My new Trickster's Realm column is up at Binnall of America: Not Really Psychic, Just Faking It, about two shows I like: Psych, and The Mentalist.

Be sure to read all the other great columns at BOA, as well as the forum. Remember that Binnall of America has great podcasts too!

Dimensions of Genesis

Evolution is defined as “the faculty possessed by all substances capable of self-nourishment of manifesting the nutritive acts by changes of form, of volume, or of structure.” The many facets of evolution involve the development and growth of all aspects of existence for a species. Physical, mental, emotional and of course, spiritual.

Many of the realms that exist are beyond human comprehension as our evolutionary advancements have not yet reached it’s peak. There are many dimensions that are not available to use at our discretion as our eyes and souls have not yet ascended to that level.

The lower realms however, are completely and wholly within our line of understanding, though we do not always comprehend their existence. Plants, bugs and animals dwell in a completely different realm than ourselves due to their lower level of consciousness. A plant has no comprehension of love, lust, greed or technology even though it is a living, breathing organism. Their anatomy is vastly different than that of a human beings, but it still maintains a life force and the basic biology of life.

Unsolved Mysteries Returns

We were watching Star Trek or something the other night, and while fast forwarding through the commercials, noticed the words "Unsolved Mysteries." It was a commercial promoting the return of the classic show. Here's what I found at wikipedia:

'According to Broadcasting & Cable, HBO Distribution plans to bring back Unsolved Mysteries when the cable channel Lifetime contract expires in 2008. The show will feature a new set, same music, recaps on old cases, as well as new cases, and a new host. The show will be on SpikeTV, in October 2008, for 5 years, and 175 episodes,[3] featuring the same theme music and hosted by actor Dennis Farina.[4]

Unsolved Mysteries will relaunch on Monday, October 13, at 5 p.m., and 6 p.m., ET Time'

It was cheesy, yes, but I loved that show, and hope the new version lives up to the old--although without Robert Stack's perfect voice, it might be difficult. At least they're keeping the music.
Interesting that Lifetime--a women's network--had the rights to this show, and now Spike, a men's network has them. I read somewhere that over half of Spike's viewers are actually women...

Richelle Hawks on "What the Bleep Do We Know?"

Richelle gives her opinions on the movie What the Bleep Do We Know? in Thoughts On That Bleeping Movie. She didn't like it -- but, do not mistake that for her not "getting it" or even not "liking" the message. In many ways, I agree, in some, I simply didn't notice the things she points out. It'll be interesting to watch the film again with that in mind. Overall, I liked the movie, mostly because of the message, but I agree with Richelle, that it was simplistic. Although, that's not the only reason Hawks didn't like the film; in other words, it's too simplistic to say she merely thinks it's simplistic. Heh. Read her views on her Medusa's Ladder column for Binnall of America.

Richelle also has something to say about the "urban legend" of the natives not seeing Columbus's ships. . . something that needs to be said a lot more often.

Mission From God MIB Syncrhonicity

Someone at work was wearing a great tie today; it had a very MIB like man on it with the words "I'm on a Mission: from God." In light of the previous post on MIBS, angels, God and Christians, I thought it was kind of neat. This person is a very nice and neat person, though definitely a religious Christian, which is fine, it's just funny that I respect this person but don't share his religious views. When I and another employee pointed out how cool his tie was, he mentioned the movie "The Blues Brothers."

I'm just musing along here; incidents like this just go to show that when you know someone personally, and they have views or beliefs that don't mesh with yours, it's not so easy to just mock or say "feh!" --- you can still put their particular beliefs in a file somehow, but thoroughly enjoy the person, etc.

LOL, it's just that when I saw that tie this morning, it just really gave me a big jolt of synchronicity.

Design in Jesus

I received an email from someone who tells me they believe in the MIBs, they're real, and they're misunderstood. The MIBS have never harmed anyone. The MIBS are really archangels (not a new idea) and are here to warn us about the Reptilians. William Bramley's Gods of Eden, puts forth this theory as well; whether or not they're "angels" aliens or what, the MIBS have been around for thousands of years. It's also not clear whether or not they're really here to help us, or what. . . but so far, I was kind of sort of with the emailer's thoughts, until he or she started talking about Jesus and framing the whole thing in a Christian construct. However, that's just me, I'm not at all religious, and certainly not Christian. I still find it very interesting though and so here it is, my mysterious MIB believer emailer's website: Seal of God.

I'm not cynical or dismissing any of this; don't mistake my non-religious views with a non "belief" or acceptance, of non-human beings, including those we call aliens, possibly MIBS, and angels.

Exene in her element

Not my favorite X song, but this is one cool little ghostly film/video. Exene Cervenka was born to be a silent film vamp. Extra credit: To what academy-award nominated actor was Exene married? More extra credit: Which X-Files episode featured an X song?

BLT Research and Nancy Talbott

I just wanted to bring up another hard working woman in esoterica (or whatever word you picky ones out there prefer), Nancy Talbott.

Nancy and BLT Research do some really great scientific research related to crop circles. In fact, I am pretty sure that anything you might want to know about crop circles you can find at the BLT website.

Lately I have been thinking of those who really do a lot of research and work and are somewhat overlooked and I feel Nancy fits in that category. Such people are often unrecognized especially by bloggers, who are either too busy hatin' on the "liars and hoaxers" or caught up in whatever is the big story of the moment. I am not a hater, but I am easily captured by certain stories or certain interests. I tell you that is because I have an obsessive personality (ya think?). Still sometimes it is nice to take a moment and send some kudos to someone who deserves them and today I send my kudos to Nancy Talbott.

The Manifestation Experiment

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to watch “What The Bleep Do We Know” again. I’d seen it before, but it had been quite a while since I first watched it and I felt the need for a lift in my spiritual psyche. I was enjoying the movie profusely and feeling more optimistic once again about human nature and spirituality. A particular scene from the movie especially caught my attention this time. An experiment with water and positive affirmation.

A man named Dr. Masaru Emoto had conducted an enlightening and revealing experiment. He obtained several bottles of distilled water, tested them for quality and control purposes, then proceeded to mark individual bottles with distinct labels or affirmations. Some of the labels said simple words or statements such as “Thank you” and “Peace”. He even had one of the bottles of water blessed by a Buddhist Monk. As well as positive labels, he marked some with negative remarks such as “I hate you.” He left the bottles of water for a period of twenty four hours.

The results were astonishing to say the least. The average and unremarkable water molecule that he had observed through a microscope had manifested into an amazing range of shapes and colors depending on the influence that the water was bestowed. The bottles marked with “Thank you” and “Peace” had transformed the water molecules into distinct crystalline patterns, all beautiful and remarkable. The bottle that had been blessed by the Monk was one of the most extraordinary, the water molecules looked like intricate crystal snowflakes. Most disturbingly, the bottle marked “I hate you” portrayed a distorted color and shape. The color was a putrid greenish yellow and it literally resembled a diseased cellular structure.

As the main character in the show marvelled over these findings, a man turns to her and states cryptically, “Your body is 75% water, just think what your thoughts can do to your body.”
This experiment and statement has haunted me now since I watched the show. It keeps tumbling around in my mind and whenever I catch myself thinking negative thoughts, I quickly try to re-establish a positive frame of mind.

An interesting note as well is that several years ago I decided I wanted a tattoo. Of course I didn’t want just anything just in case I would regret it later on in life, so I decided what better to permanently put on my skin but my daughter’s name. Ironically enough, my daughter’s name happens to be a glorious and wonderful affirmation…Hope.

After watching the movie recently, I thought about the interesting coincidences that happened in my life after I had her name tattooed to my body. My life took a very positive turn after that time frame.

As a result of all of this, I’ve decided to conduct my own little experiment. I thought to myself that if writing these positive affirmations on a bottle of water was so effective, why not write it directly onto myself? So, this morning, I wrote, in permanent ink no less, many positive words on easily concealed parts of my legs. I generally suffer from extreme fatigue, so I wrote the word “Energetic”. I’ve struggled with weight issues not unlike many people in this society, so I wrote “Thin”. Some of the others were, “Inspired”, “Patient” and “Strong”. There are a few more, but, they’re just none of your darn business. :D

Dr. Emoto notes that positive affirmations should be stated in the past or present tense, like a prayer that has already been answered. Who knows, if this type of experiment should prove fruitful beyond all explanation, we may have discovered a new form of cure for many of the self inflicted diseases that plagues our society. Dr. Emoto suggests performing these water affirming experiments for yourself and then drinking the water. I guess I thought I’d take it one step further.

One thing strange I have to say, whether it’s my subconscious working overtime or the pen ink seeping through my skin, within moments of writing these words on my legs, both started to feel very light and felt as thought they were vibrating pleasantly. I woke up this morning with some pretty sore legs from a hard workout yesterday, so the fact that they suddenly don’t hurt is kind of interesting. I also had a headache and was very tired beforehand and I now feel very, very good. Interesting. I’ll keep you updated.

No…I’m not bored…why do you ask? C:

Nice find

I recently discovered this cool thing: Ashe Journal, the journal of expiremental spirituality.

It seems all (if not all, then close to all) the articles from current and back issues are online. Topics and articles include: 'punk buddhism', gender & culture, art, Crowley, Burroughs, Osho, etc.

Take a look. I can barely look at this cover without walking to the insane asylum.

Tina Sena: GOD - In HIs Great Flying Mothership

Tina Sena has a really nice piece up on Binnall of America for her Esoterica column: GOD -- In His Great Flying Mothership. It's weird, because, for some reason, I've been thinking along these same lines, and I don't even know why -- about a connection between the "fallen angels" and aliens and UFOs. But especially about One Source kind of thing. I like what Sena writes here:
But for us here in the west, it's okay to go ghost hunting, ufo hunting, bigfoot hunting and the like and never associate any of these things with one great diversion. Maybe they are all from the same source. Maybe none of it is as weird as we think. Maybe we are just too primitive to get what's going on.

I'm an animal lover, more than that, I have a strong spiritual connection with animals, and it's in this context that I'm promoting one of Lesley's blogs, The Wild Kingdom. It's all about animals; animal rights, animal welfare, and the Fortean side of the animal world.

Please visit her blog. It's really good and full of items, some which will make you very sad, like Sarah Palin's pro hunting wolf, and by helicopters, other items will please you.

My Utterly Completely Wondrous New Age OOBE

This is going to put my, er, "fans" right over the edge, and might even exasperate a few who otherwise think I'm fairly sane. But the truth is the truth so here we go.

I've been working a lot with various things, some of which I won't go into here, but a lot of meditation, focusing, along with crystal work and so on. Whenever I've done this, it seems to awaken other parts of myself.

The other night I had the most intense, involved, and vivid out of body experience I've ever had. Now, I've had these off and on all my life, and it happened a lot when I was a kid and until I was in my teens. After that, my astral traveling, or OOBEs, occurred only a few times a year, if that. And for the past several years, whenever I felt myself leaving my body, I'd panic, and "slam" back into myself, not getting anywhere at all.

When I start to leave the body, I hear roaring and rushing sounds, sometimes a train like sound, bells clanging, and, for lack of a better term, "angelic voices." Yes, I said it: angelic voices. Whatever.

All right. So last night, I wake up, because I had a sudden pain at the top of my head. I had somehow slammed my head into the metal headboard. I assumed that, in my sleep, I had moved upwards a bit and banged my head. But I found that I wasn't near enough the headboard, (with the pillows behind me and all) to have done that. The moment I had that realization, I started to leave my body, but the "pull" was from my feet this time. I heard that rushing roaring sound, the bells.

And then, I felt a massive pulling at my left foot. Someone was pulling -- hard! -- on my left foot! I had the distinct impression that "it" was saying "All right, you wn't go out that way, let's try this way." At first I was frightened: "What the hell?!" I thought, almost panicking (and feeling very silly for it) "Is there some incubus/demon/alien trying to get at me?" But as soon as I had that thought, I realized -- I knew, -- whatever it was pulling at me was both a part of me, and something outside of myself, and whatever "we" were, was benign. In fact, I suddenly knew, that it was healing me.

I had been working a lot on my left leg. For years I've had chronic -- often severe -- problems with my left foot and ankle. Some days I could barely walk. (The one surgeon I went to said the injuries were too old and nothing could be done.) I also fell a couple of years ago at work and hurt my knee, and that flares up a lot, causing a lot of pain. I can't bend at the knees, due both to just being out of shape and overweight, as well as the injuries. So I've been doing a lot of meditation on that area, a lot of work.

And this pulling from beyond was incredible, the "thing" or being or whatever it was, and I got a distinct sense of power and intelligence, a consciousness, was healing my foot and ankle.

Then things got really interesting.

I "took off" then, racing along, with all that roaring and rushing. I was being propelled rapidly through -- I don't know what it was through, the "grid," the "matrix," . . . Lots of lights and colors, and sounds. Aside from the roaring and bell sounds, I heard static and radio sounds, like someone moving a dial on the radio very fast, trying to settle on a station. It did settle on a "station" -- the song was a 1950s style "Do Wop" song, except it wasn't any real song out there. Think of a movie; and the soundtrack created just for that movie, a recreation. It was like that. There was something funny about the song, and I remember laughing. Then, whoosh, off again and the music started changing, (sometimes there'd be snippets of voices speaking) and some classical music, then beautiful signing, female voices, then the "angelic" voices.

Things started to slow down a little but not much. We "flew" close to some large rocks on the beach; it was misty and vague. I could barely make out the ocean, but I had the sense it (whatever "it" is, or was) was showing me my future home. Or it had something to do with that. (this wouldn't be any great mystery, given that I plan on moving there, I just don't know when.)

During this entire experience the colors were amazing. Everything was astounding. Three things about this are so important: For the first time in a long time, in years, I was able to leave my body without fear and slamming back in, the intensity of the colors and sounds was unlike anything I've experienced (and the images; first time I saw some specific images, no matter how brief, form and unfold) and the length of time, were like no other experience, and the healing of my foot and leg was new, and a true gift.

I don't know what all of this was about, but it was incredible. And I'm very thankful.
